GLORIA HENDRY, 007 BOND, BUNNY, BLACK RENAISSANCE “IFM”

“I cannot believe that over 34 years have passed since working on Live and Let Die with Gloria and I certainly can’t when I look at pictures of her today. I well remember our first meeting in New Orleans; she was very bright and bubbly and obviously would be a great asset to our production despite the question of James Bond being romantically linked with, as it was called in those days, a lady of colour. Today, thank the Lord, we have moved on and that is one of the reasons I am sure that the readers of her autobiography will be intrigued and puzzled by the attitudes of 1973’s bigotry. Live and Let Die was a very important film to me, being my first as 007, and I thank Gloria for helping to make it such an enjoyable and happy shoot.”
